Exhibition catalogues play an important role in adding scholarship around an artist’s practice as well as documenting an exhibition. In order for a catalogue to be ready and available for the opening of a show it has to go to print prior to the completion (or even the start of the installation) so sometimes you can only see what an exhibition looked like in the space but buying a future book.
