MCA Chicago Part I
I happen to be writing this entry on the 45th anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon. I would say it was a coincidence, but I don’t believe in those. I was able to see this exhibition by Yoko Ono at the MCA Chicago with my husband and kids, and we stopped to take a picture of ourselves together in front of her peace power mural installed on the outside of the museum, so that everyone who passes by, regardless of whether they go in or not, has an opportunity to read and consider her message of peace. Yoko Ono‘s exhibition is participatory and encourages actions that are hopeful and sustaining. The power of writing a wish—that physical action—and then tying it to a tree along with everyone else’s wishes now can be backed by science. We have an opportunity to come together to manifest a kinder, less mean, and peaceful world. That’s my commitment. Please join me.
