Beautiful

“Open your eyes. Today looks beautiful.” Those were the words with which my guided meditation ended this morning. And, of course, it’s true. The decision to know and believe that is ours alone. Regardless of my “readiness” score on my Oura ring or what I have (get) to do tomorrow afternoon, today can be and is beautiful. Some years ago, we curated a show at the Aspen Art Museum titled Stories We Tell Ourselves about narrative-based work. And we all tell ourselves stories—about ourselves, our lives, and other people. I have learned words have profound power. Choose to tell heroic, kind, and generous stories!

Hilary Pecis celebrates the beauty in the everyday. She renders patterns, juxtaposes colors, offers fragments, and brings every single glorious thing together in exuberant order. Today is indeed beautiful. And so are you!
